Today was the big day! They put the boat on a trailer and towed her out of her little spot in the back, then picked her off the trailer with the travel lift and set her down in the water. What a feeling! They very kindly let her float on the straps while I frantically checked all the hull penetrations for leaks, everything looked good! After and hour of “final” checks Eric showed me how to start the motor, we let it run for a few until we were confident it wouldn’t overheat and then motored off to the slip. Backing in didn’t go so well, I let Eric take over after I failed a few times. I will definitely need practice. It is so nice to be floating, I spent the night with her to make sure all systems were go. It was so nice to sleep while the boat gently rocked happily back where she belongs.
